Assistant Director, Graduate Student Career Services and Extermal Relations

The Assistant Director for Graduate Student Career Services and External Relations serves in a dual-role.  ½ time is spent providing career counseling, programs and related activities for Master's and PhD students enrolled in the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences and the Pratt School of Engineering. ½ time is spent in the cultivation external relations with employers, alumni and other constituents towards the expansion of career opportunities for graduate students. This work will include helping those seeking both academic as well as alternative professional employment.  On occasion the Assistant Director will meet with undergraduates interested in pursuing graduate degrees leading to academic careers.  This position reports to the Executive Director with additional oversight from the Associate Director.  

Assistant Director, Graduate Student Career Services

The Assistant Director serves on a three-person team that provides career services for Master’s and PhD students enrolled in The Graduate School.  This position offers career counseling, programs and related activities for Master's and PhD students enrolled in the Graduate School.  This position reports to the Executive Director with additional oversight from the Associate Director.  

Assistant Director, Counseling

The Assistant Director will share with staff the design and delivery of career counseling and services to graduate and undergraduate students, alumni and employers with the goal of connecting these important constituents for mutual benefit.  As part of the comprehensive Duke Career Center team, this role has responsibility for engaging students in the career development process and developing relationships both internally and externally to connect Duke students to opportunities.  Working in a team-based environment, the Assistant Director provides leadership, career education and counseling, coaching, and acts as a resource through active participation on cross-functional teams.
